The Open vSwitch team is pleased to announce the release of Open vSwitch 2.6.0:

    http://openvswitch.org/releases/openvswitch-2.6.0.tar.gz

This release includes the first non-experimental version of OVN. OVN, the Open Virtual Network, is a system to support virtual network abstraction. OVN complements the existing capabilities of OVS to add native support for virtual network abstractions, such as virtual L2 and L3 overlays and security groups.

A few other feature highlights of 2.6.0 include:

 - Support for NAT on Linux kernels.

 - Basic connection tracking for DPDK and Hyper-V.

 - Traffic policer support for DPDK.

 - IPv6 tunnels.

 - Improvements to OpenFlow 1.3 and 1.4 support.

 - And many others. See the full change log here:

In addition to the 2.6.0 release, we've also released 2.5.1:

This release contains bug fixes for 2.5.0.

Enjoy!

--------------------
Open vSwitch is a production quality, multilayer open source virtual switch. It is designed to enable massive network automation through programmatic extension, while still supporting standard management interfaces. Open vSwitch can operate both as a soft switch running within the hypervisor, and as the control stack for switching silicon. It has been ported to multiple virtualization platforms and switching chipsets.
