I actually think it is rather common to have hosts that exclusively switch
GRE traffic.  It's probably less common that they need to do this while also
running the Linux bridge at the same time though.  Regardless, it's more the
fact that this breaks out of the vport abstraction that bothers me.  In
practice, it doesn't matter though.
