[ovs-dev] poll: should "make install" install kernel modules as well?

Most people forget that 'make install' depends greatly on the environment variable DESTDIR. This is so that a prototype system can be build in an area other than the prototype starting at the root file system of the build system.

Usually one does not have enough privileges, hence 'make install' usually fails preventing destroying the build system. One can do builds while running as 'root' but that is abusing the build procedure.

Hence I suggest that make install should install the kernel modules.

I received a grand total of zero serious replies to this question, so I'm
going to leave the current arrangement alone for now.
