Since, I already pushed this patch to 1.9 branch, then I will have to
create another one that would:
1. print warning, if PMTUD is enabled,
2. mention this behavioural change in the man pages;

In the NEWS I already mentioned that default behaviour was changed. I
guess that what you are suggesting here is to add a little bit deeper
explanation on why exactly this was done, right?
