git send-mail makes life easier for you to post patches and for us
to review/apply.  But it's not strictly needed, you can still rebase
and use format-patch to extract patches. Then you need to figure out
how to use your mail client to send the patches in the same way
without messing with anything.

The usual procedure is to send them to yourself and check if you
can apply with git-am.
