Sounds good to me, hosting that code in this repository would be great and
save a lot of boiler plate for a separate repository.

It is important to have it documented somewhere official as the API will be
proposed for use by other projects as part of this stream of work. And
pointing to a plug implementation documentation in this repository would
serve that purpose.
