I am not aware of any work on that.

The latter article says: "Extreme Proprietary protocol. To me this is
not a big deal as you only run this protocol at the core. Downstream
switches can be any vendor."  Open vSwitch doesn't usually run at the
core of a network but at the edge.  Also, it might be difficult to
correctly implement a proprietary vendor protocol.
