No, I don't want to pull support for new kernels into release
branches.  I consider it to be somewhat of a new feature given that
2.6.39 was released after 1.1.

Yeah, I was thinking about putting in an #error for minimum and
maximum supported versions.  I'll send out a patch to do that.
