This is not true, because in rhel kernels you will find many backports from
newer releases.
In a rhel 6.x kernel names you will always find 2.6.32-xxx, also for rpm
dependency.
You have to see the changelog and/ or the sources to get an inside of the
real mapping between vanilla and red hat
