[ovs-discuss] Error in starting the OVS demon

Hello

 I am not able to start the OVS demon. I am getting the following error...

root at ubuntu:/home/ilt/openvswitch/vswitchd# ./ovs-vswitchd
2012-03-22T21:30:07Z|00001|stream_unix|ERR|/usr/local/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock:
connection failed (No such file or directory)
2012-03-22T21:30:07Z|00002|reconnect|INFO|unix:/usr/local/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock:
connecting...
2012-03-22T21:30:07Z|00003|reconnect|WARN|unix:/usr/local/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock:
connection attempt failed (No such file or directory)

May I know what could be wrong please.
