[ovs-discuss] help in using ovs-ofctl

Do you see any errors in your ovs-vswitchd.log?

I don't think it's related to not being able to run ovs-ofctl, but I'm surprised you didn't see an error in your "add-port" command since you didn't specify a bridge.
