Thank You Joe for your reply.

So the command sequence should have been

sudo mkdir /work
cd /work
wget http://openvswitch.org/releases/openvswitch-2.3.1.tar.gz
tar zxf openvswitch-2.3.1.tar.gz
cd openvswitch-2.3.1
./configure --with-linux=/lib/modules/`uname -r`/build
make
make install
sudo make modules_install
sudo /sbin/modprobe openvswitch

/sbin/lsmod
cd /
sudo rm -rf /work

After that the disc image may be used to load into other nodes.
then:

#ovsdb-tool create /usr/local/etc/openvswitch/conf.db
/users/peertest/openvswitch-2.3.1/vswitchd/vswitch.ovsschema
# ovsdb-server --remote=punix:/usr/local/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock
\ --remote=db:Open_vSwitch,Open_vSwitch,manager_options \
                 --pidfile --detach

ovs-vsctl --no-wait init
sudo ovs-vswitchd --pidfile --detach --log-file
sudo ovs-vsctl add-br OVSbr1
sudo ovs-vsctl add-br OVSbr2
sudo ifconfig eth2 0
sudo ifconfig eth3 0
sudo ovs-vsctl add-port OVSbr1 eth2
sudo ovs-vsctl add-port OVSbr2 eth3
sudo ovs-vsctl show

Will simply addition of 'make' and 'make install' as per the above sequence
ensure that i do not get the error from the configuration commands as given
in red?

I will try this sequence and let you know.

Thank You once again.

Regards
Sanghamitra De
