When these are OVS patch ports you don’t need to worry about their MTU – packets don’t actually flow through patch ports. In the past there was an option to use veth pairs between bridges and there was a parameter called veth_mtu.

Subject: [ovs-discuss] MTU size on Open vSwitch internal Bridge Ports
Dear OVS gurus,
I have installed OVS (Version 2.5.0) together with OpenStack Mitaka Release on Ubuntu 14.04 and I would like to get aware
about the MTU size the internal Bridge Ports like "int-br-ex", "patch-tun" etc, use to forward traffic between
the OVS Birdges.
Is there any ovs utility available in order to display the used MTU size on all the internal Bridge ports?
I guess OpenStack Neutron instructs ovs to set a specific MTU size. Correct?
Greetings and thanks for support
Thomas
