[ovs-discuss] #ovscon week of Dec. 7

Thanks for doing the research. None of these seems to me like a hard
barrier to holding the OVS/OVN conference, but I'll continue to listen
to see if anyone else thinks differently.

We are planning to hold the OVS/OVN conference completely online this
year. One idea is to have the talks prerecorded and then watch them
together at scheduled times while discussing them during and afterward.
I've heard that this has worked out well for some other conferences,
although I have not attended one in this format myself yet.

Since people around the world might want to join us, both as presenters
and attendees, it also occurs to us that we will have to be careful
about timing. One idea I had was that we could survey the people who
plan to attend for, say, the top 3 talks that they want to attend, along
with their time zones, correlate those against the presenters' time
zones, and try to work out a schedule that way. We could also do more
than one joint viewing for popular talks spread across difficult
combinations of time zones. With the plan to prerecord all the talks,
I guess people can always just watch them later, too.

Anyway, everyone's thoughts are welcome. Please share yours!
